What is the Future Teacher Education Association (FTEA) all about?

Develop their potential as future teachers!

Establishing Future Teacher Education Associations in every partnership school district, community college, and at Colorado State University-Pueblo has been a priority of the Southern Colorado Teacher Education Alliance.  With the help of talented and dedicated educators as sponsors, each school has developed an amazing future teacher organization where students can discover what this spectacular profession is all about!

Who can join FTEA?
ANYONE!  Whether you have known since you entered kindergarten that you wanted to be a teacher or whether you are just thinking about teaching as a future career, this organization will provide you with multiple opportunities to discover what the profession is all about.  These organizations are established in every partnership high school, community college, and at Colorado State University-Pueblo.  But if you are visiting our web site and do not attend one of these schools, please contact SCTEA Recruitment Coordinator, Cindy Gutierrez, to find out how you can establish one in your school!

Tutoring
Teacher shadowing/aiding
Learning from guest speakers and mentor teachers
Attending workshops to learn more about teaching & teacher education programs
Developing teacher appreciation projects
Using technology to network with other future teachers

There are other regional opportunities available to members including the Summer Academy for Future Teachers and Fall & Spring Conferences for Future Teachers on the CSU-Pueblo campus!
