Faculty & Writing Development: Faculty Development

Goal 4 of the SCTEA is to

Improve the quality of instruction and learning in college and university classrooms for pre-service teachers.

Although excellent teaching occurs in courses at all partner institutions, improvements in the use of such curriculum models as "Writing Across the Curriculum" and greater integration of technology into the curriculum will result in increases in student learning.

Some of the objectives for the school year include implementation of

  • Workshops for faculty at CSU-Pueblo and partner colleges that focus on improving the use of writing in classes, on writing-to-learn strategies,  on writing assessment, and on improving the use of technology as a teaching/learning tool.
  • Faculty mini-grants at CSU-Pueblo and partner colleges to encourage course and program revision in writing across the curriculum and technology applications.
  • Interactive distance activities to develop and strengthen writing across the curriculum and technology use.

As we move forward in reaching our goal, this Web Site will provide faculty resources and document faculty activities.
