Upward Bound has given me the opportunity to have a small part in a team effort to help and motivate high school students who are from low-income or first generation families to be successful in college. The program is funded through the U.S. Department of Education and sponsored in Pueblo by Colorado State University-Pueblo.

Some of the rewards of working for the Upward Bound Program are seeing these students succeed in their goal to graduate from post-secondary education. In some cases, former Upward Bound students have had the opportunity to work in our office with the Upward Bound staff. They are a real asset since they become excellent role models to the participants of the Upward Bound Program. My biggest reward is to know that Upward Bound has had an impact or influence on the way that these students go.

Working for the Upward Bound Program has many success stories and I feel good that I have had a small part in these successes.
